We need your help!

Ways your gift will help

Izaiah will need full-time care for his entire life.  He is in dire need of respiratory, physical, occupational & speech therapy which he is not getting regularly.  This is critical to him not only having any chance to improve but also maintaining where he currently is.

Meet Izaiah

Baby Izaiah was critically injured because of a drunk and “high” teenage driver losing control of his vehicle and crashing onto a sidewalk in Oceanside, CA on October 18th, 2010 at 9:00 AM smashing the baby’s stroller which was being wheeled by his grandpa on the way to the park.

After 7 months in the hospital and 6 surgeries, Izaiah returned home with severe brain damage, paralyzed from the chest down breathing on a ventilator and tracheotomy with a feeding tube and colostomy. His 22-year-old parents had no health insurance and the teen driver was illegal, uninsured and unlicensed. Izaiah’s mom has returned to work, however his dad had to leave his job to become Izaiah’s full-time caregiver learning all the intricacies of his life-saving machines, medications, etc.

Passion 4 K.I.D.S. has worked hard to keep this story alive in the media so people will continue to remember the family in their prayers and with their donations.

Passion 4 K.I.D.S. organized and sponsored a special fund raising event at Paradise Point Resort in San Diego attended by celebrities including professional baseball superstar Adrian Gonzalez , Felix Gilesof NASCAR, Dan Cohen (Ch 8 CBS TV morningnews anchor) and Pastor Miles McPherson of the Rock Church.

Our charity was also instrumental in coordinating donations of a family car from Hoehn Honda of Carlsbad, CA, a second family car (after theirs burned while Izaiah’s dad was driving) from San Diego Metropolitan Credit Union and NewCarsInc.com

The much-needed donation of a wheelchair accessible van from HeadNorth in conjunction with The Ability Center was also facilitated through Passion 4 K.I.D.S

Fundraising efforts also included raising a down payment to purchase a desperately needed small permanent home for the family which accommodates Izaiah’s special needs and is handicapped accessible. The home was purchased in May 2012 with a 6 week extreme home makeover immediately undertaken by 64 San Diego based businesses who donated time and supplies under the coordination of Beach City Builders.  The family moved in on June 27, 2012  when they saw their new home for the first time.
